Are you addicted to caffeine? Are you addicted to candies? Or to anything that gives you that ‘boost’?
Well, to tell you guys the truth…I plead guilty!! I am addicted to coffee and candies…okay maybe not candies, I eat and like candy, but not really addicted to it – lol.
But seriously though, what are the addiction problems that people – especially teenagers – face today?? This is a topic that I want to share with you guys today. I always wonder if people totally heal after going to rehab centers, do they live healthy lives further etc? Today we are going to identify the type of addictions the youth face and how to break those addictions…
Texting (CELL Phones)
And there’s a lot of things that can become an addiction; just to mention how many teens use substances illegally!! In the U.S, approximately 50% of teens have misused drugs at least once in their life.
In South Africa, where I live, about 15% of South Africa’s population has a problem. And I mean that’s sad and scary
The other MAIN ADDICTION that affects everyone is no one other than the little screens that are in our hands: PHONES!! Yep, folks, you read that right…Phones are also the cause of addiction, it also causes death.
On the road when people drive and text, I think that’s a bit extreme and risky. I always ask myself this question: ‘Why do people text and drive?’ The phone can cause a distraction and high-likely cause an accident also, and more people need to realize that the phone can wait until you are not occupied and you have free time on your hands to check your phone. I plead guilty though, I’m always checking my phone, but I’m not addicted to it; there are times that I know it’s not important.
